Experiments

GCRS supports the application management for experiments, which are carried out under license of the Home Office.

A license is described by the licence number, commencement date, expiry date, licensee, licence details and the types of experiment for which the licence is valid. Scientists can be assigned to a license.

A surveillance reports will alert the user if a license is due to expire within a predefined period or when the animal numbers exceed the permitted numbers.

When an experiment is set up it has to be linked to a license. An experiment has to be assigned to each animal, which is going to be in an experiment.

A Home Office Report which renders information about acquisitions, disposals, use in experiments and culling methods can be generated. The reporting method may differ within certain types of mice, such as non-transgenic mice, knockout mice, transgenic mice.
