The Report builder uses a definition for the layout and the content for the report which is stored in a file with the extension "qrp". All content is stored in database tables and database fields and you can not edit a report once it has been created.
The Document Builder uses MS-Word templates as definition for the layout and documents. Documents will be created and can be edited after creation. The documents can be stored as complete objects in the database.

What must I know if I want to work with the Report Builder ?

There are several levels of skills you should have working, with the Report Builder. Changing existing layouts is straightforward and WYSIWYG-orientated. You can drag and drop items or change the format, enter pictures without deeper knowledge. Also inserting existing new items from the items definition list is quite easy. Although you have to know something about grouping and detail blocks in complicated reports. To define new items you have know SQL and the structure of the database.

What shall do if I do not know SQL but I have the need of new reports ?

We provide a module which allows the complete administration of reports. This tool has a function to import and to export items. If the definition if new items gets to complex, you just specify the items you need, and we can provide them to you by the downloading platform or via email. You import them and they will appear on your item list. The rest is easy.

Can I also use other Report Builders?

You can also use other Report Builders like Cristal Reports. But then yon definitely have to know the structure of the database.
