Workplace (GHS)

GHS workplace The GHS workplace integrates all functions of the medical and the commercial field under one uniform interface. The access to the functions of the case are controlled by the so-called user profile and their access authorisations. The basic data (last name, first name, name at birth, birthday, type of case, status) of the case are followed by so-called child windows rendering the function areas of the case, which are the patient’s address data, contact persons, admission data, transfers, diagnoses, operations, medical records, cost acceptance, service agreements, additional payments by patient, service recording, service account (all services rendered and paid for), forms, documents, orders and invoices. A higher level of the patient can be accessed from this point as well. Apart from the purely case-related functions, the fast access to general functions, such as bed scheduling, service recording, lists or settlements and statistics, is possible here as well. In the case of dealing with animal probands the basic core data are mapped to their equivalents. Basically the access and the handling of all case-related functions is licensed with a GHS workplace. Functions shown in the workplace which are not licensed as a basic module are greyed or can be hidden by the system administrator, if this module is not to be used permanently. The GHS workplace is a real Windows Client which can be linked to the database by TCP/IP, SPX/IPX, Netbios and several other protocols. Depending on the objective with respect to performance and maintenance and the supporting systems available, the client can be installed on every workplace or on a server. The database licences required for operation have to purchased separately. The terminal server and MetaFrame licences for thin client operation have to be purchased separately as well.
