Disposition (GCRS)

The disposition module permits split planning and implementation of all processes required in animal administration, such as admission, move, transfer, mating, et cetera. When using the disposition module, the different responsibilities of the planning project manager and of the keeper are retained and documented by the system.

The project manager can set the Cage Explorer to planning mode, and can record all processes as if they were documented for real. The actions planned in this way will then appear on the order list of the animal house at the realisation date planned. From there, they can be transferred to the work lists of the performing persons. Subsequently, the work lists are handled on-line or printed in order to be able to carry out the action in the animal house on the basis of this paper. A special feature of this printout is that the work lists contain the ready-printed cage cards with the contents after performance of the action to be pulled off, which can be signed after each action. If transponders are used, the numbers of the animals to be moved can be loaded to the reader permitting easy identification of the animals in the cages.

After having carried out the work, it only needs to be acknowledged in the system. The system will then automatically convert the actions into the actual status.

This kind of use of the deposition module also permits the employment of technically unskilled persons in the animal house, rendering, however, a maximum safety and quality of performance for the manager of the animal house.
