Husbandry and Animal Administration (GCRS)

products_gcrs_Animal_Administartion

The animal administration registers the most important administration events within the framework of so-called processes. Depending on the case, this includes admission, transfer, move, experiment application and prolongation of an experiment, culling and discharge.

The administration module acts according to plausibility, such as the check of unweaned pups, of the culling process or of colony (strain, line) plausibility when animals are admitted or moved into one cage.

The accounting of the numbers of animals contained within individual cages is automatically supported by all administration processes.

Depending on the type of case and the event, forms can be defined which can be printed automatically or upon request when the event is handled. Barcode fonts are supported.

The print-out of the forms may be case-related or can be processed in a batch. By means of the report generator provided, the papers and label sets can be adapted. All information saved in the animal administration module can be accessed directly for correction. All papers can be printed subsequently as well.

In order to ensure consistent data management, in particular with respect to the exchange of information between the medical and administrative bodies, it shall be pointed out here again that GCRS manages all data in one database and relies on interface systems only for links to specialised subsystems, such as laboratory or radiology.

Tagging with transponders:

The tagging of a mouse by injecting a transponder under the skin of the animal is supported by the additional attribute TAGID. Standard search routines allow the search with the TAGID. See also bulk import.

The work with transponders is fully integrated in the animal administration.
